Food truck POS help center
10 step-by-step guides, from sign-up to close-out. Search them, or pick a lane below.
Getting started
Create your GetFoodTruckPOS account10 min. Sign up from the website with your email, choose your country so currency and tax default correctly, name your business, and you are on the dashboard on a free trial with no card on file.
Add your truck and register15 min. Add each truck as a location under Settings > Business locations, give it a register under Cash registers, and every sale, cash count and report is then tracked per truck.
Import your menu from a spreadsheet30 min. Download the import template under Products > Import products, fill one row per item with name, category and price, upload it, then add photos; the online store builds itself from the same menu.
Set up taxes for the USA, UAE or Pakistan15 min. Add your rates under Settings > Tax rates, combine them into a tax group if you owe more than one, set it as the default, and choose whether menu prices include tax; your accountant confirms the rate, the software applies it.
Selling
Set up modifiers, sizes and sold out20 min. Create modifier sets for add-ons and spice levels, use variations for sizes with their own price, and mark an item sold out from the product list so it stops showing on the POS and the online store.
Post today's spot on your online store5 min. Open Online store > Today's spot on your phone, enter where you are parked, your hours and a short note, publish, and share the store link so customers stop asking where you are.
Payments
Use your card reader with GetFoodTruckPOS15 min. GetFoodTruckPOS works with the reader and processor you already have: ring the sale, take the card on your processor's reader, record it as Card, and match totals at close-out; we never touch the card money.
Open and close the cash register10 min. Open the register with your starting float, log any cash taken out or added during service, then close by counting each note and coin; the close screen shows expected versus counted cash and any difference.

Help center questions
Start with /help/create-your-account/, then /help/add-your-truck-and-register/ and /help/import-your-menu/. Those three get you to a working register. Next, set taxes for your country, connect your processor's card reader and post today's spot so the online store shows where you are. Each guide is short, uses screenshots where they help, and is written for reading on a phone between services.
Follow /help/set-up-taxes-by-country/. You create tax rates and tax groups for your market, such as US state and local sales tax, UAE VAT at 5% or Pakistan provincial sales tax, and assign them to items. Confirm current rates with your tax authority, since rates change and we cannot file returns for you.
GetFoodTruckPOS works with your processor's reader. Set up the reader with your processor first, then follow /help/connect-a-card-reader/ to add the card payment method and record card sales in the POS. If a reader will not pair or charge, contact your processor first, since the reader belongs to their system.
Open today's spot from your phone, enter where you are parked, your hours and a short note, and save. It shows on your online store right away. Full steps are in /help/post-todays-spot/. Post before you open so regulars can find you, and update it if you move.
Tap the item's sold out switch on the register and it stops showing on the quick menu and the online store until you turn it back on. Setup for modifiers and sold out is in /help/set-up-modifiers-and-sold-out/. Use it the moment you run out, so nobody pays online for food you cannot make.
Close the cash register by counting your cash by denomination, then read the end-of-day report for sales by item, payment method and staff. GetFoodTruckPOS shows expected versus counted cash, so a short drawer stands out the same night instead of at month end. Check card totals against your processor's app too. See /help/open-and-close-the-cash-register/ and /help/read-your-end-of-day-report/.
Set up your commissary as its own location, then create a stock transfer to the truck before service. Stock leaves the commissary count and arrives on the truck count, so both stay correct and low-stock alerts fire at the right place. Commissary transfers are on the Fleet plan. Steps are in /help/move-stock-from-the-commissary/.
Use the form on /contact/ and describe what you tapped, what you expected and what happened, with a screenshot if you can. We reply within one business day in your market. If a problem is stopping sales during service, say so in the first line, and take cash in the meantime.
Help articles start in English and are translated over time. The app itself runs in English, Arabic, Urdu, Spanish and more, and our support team answers in all four languages. If you need a guide in your language now, ask through /contact/ and we will walk you through it.
