Food truck POS for Pakistan, in English and Urdu

GetFoodTruckPOS gives Pakistani food trucks and carts a simple window POS on a phone, with prices in rupees, receipts in English or Urdu, and every way your customers pay: cash, card, JazzCash, Easypaisa and bank transfer. You see what sold, who sold it and what is left, and close out each night with a cash count.

The food truck scene in Pakistan

Food trucks in Pakistan have grown from a novelty into a regular evening outing in the big cities. Trucks cluster in truck parks, along popular food roads and at seafront and lakeside spots, and trade peaks late in the evening, especially on weekends and through Ramadan nights.

Cash is still the most common payment, but mobile wallets like JazzCash and Easypaisa and bank transfers by QR or account number are now normal, especially with younger customers. Owners need a POS that records all of these properly so the cash count at night means something.

Many trucks are run by young owners who also handle Instagram, deliveries and catering for weddings and corporate events. Load-shedding, heat and rain shape the day, and a phone on mobile data is often the most reliable device on the truck.

How customers pay in Pakistan

  • CashStill the biggest share at most trucks. Open with a float, record cash in and out, close with a denomination count.
  • Cards via your processorUse the card terminal from your bank or payment provider and record the sale as Card. We take 0% of card sales.
  • JazzCashRecord wallet payments as a custom JazzCash method so they show separately from cash in reports.
  • EasypaisaRecord as its own custom method and match it against your Easypaisa merchant statement at close-out.
  • Bank transferFor QR and account transfers, and for catering deposits. Recorded as a custom method.

Tax

Sales tax on restaurant and food services in Pakistan is mostly a provincial matter: the Sindh Revenue Board in Karachi, the Punjab Revenue Authority in Lahore, and federal arrangements for the Islamabad Capital Territory. Rates, registration rules and invoicing requirements differ and change, so confirm what applies to your truck with the relevant authority or a tax adviser.

How the software handles it

Add the rate that applies to you, choose whether your menu prices include it, and add your registration number so it prints on receipts. The tax report totals tax collected by period and by truck. Some authorities run their own invoice reporting systems for certain restaurants; ask us before relying on GetFoodTruckPOS for that, since we apply and report tax but do not file it.

Permits

Food trucks in Pakistan generally need registration with the provincial food authority and permission from the local civic body or cantonment for where they park. In Karachi that means the Sindh Food Authority and KMC or the cantonment board; in Lahore the Punjab Food Authority and LDA or MCL; in Islamabad the Islamabad Food Authority and CDA. Rules change, so confirm current requirements before you trade.

Signal

GetFoodTruckPOS needs a data connection to ring sales. 4G is good in most city areas but can be patchy at crowded outdoor events, and load-shedding can knock out Wi-Fi routers. Run the POS on a phone with mobile data, keep a second SIM on a different network, and if signal fails, take cash and enter those sales when it returns.

Food trucks in Pakistan: questions

Yes. Add JazzCash, Easypaisa and Bank transfer as custom payment methods, and record each sale against the method the customer used. They show separately in your reports, so your cash count at night only includes real cash. At close-out, compare each total with your wallet or bank statement for the day to catch missed or duplicate entries.

Yes. The POS and receipts can run in Urdu with right-to-left layout, or in English, and you can edit any translated label so menu names read the way your customers say them. Many trucks print item names in English and keep staff screens in Urdu. Support is available in Urdu and English.

You set the rate that applies to your truck, and the software adds it to sales and totals it in the tax report. Sales tax on food services is mostly provincial in Pakistan, so the rate and rules in Sindh, Punjab and Islamabad differ. Confirm yours with the Sindh Revenue Board, Punjab Revenue Authority or your tax adviser. We apply and report tax; we do not file it.

The POS keeps working as long as the device has battery and mobile data. Load-shedding usually affects Wi-Fi routers, not mobile networks, so run the POS on a phone with its own data rather than truck Wi-Fi. Keep a power bank charged and a second SIM on a different network. We do not have an offline mode, so if data fails, take cash and enter sales later.

No, not to start. Many trucks begin with cash, JazzCash, Easypaisa and bank transfer only. If you want cards, get a terminal from your bank or a payment provider, take the card on it, and record the sale as Card in GetFoodTruckPOS. We do not process cards and take no cut of card sales, so the terminal's fees are between you and your provider.

Yes. Your online store builds itself from your menu and you post today's spot from your phone: the park or road, your hours and a note. Share the link on your Instagram bio and WhatsApp status, and customers can see the spot and the live menu together. Items you mark sold out drop off the store.

Yes. Pakistan customers can reach us on WhatsApp, email or the contact form during Pakistan business hours, and we answer within one business day in Urdu or English. If you want help importing your menu or setting up tax, request a menu import session through the contact page and we will reply with a time that suits you.

Yes. You can create a quotation for a mehndi, wedding or corporate event, send it to the client, and turn it into a sale when confirmed. Take the advance as a bank transfer and the balance later as a split payment. If you also run a catering kitchen, our sister site KitchenWebStudio builds managed websites for catering and commissary kitchens.
