Kite Beach and Jumeirah beachfront
Evening and weekend beach crowds, with trucks and kiosks trading at permitted spots.
Dubai, UAE
Dubai's food trucks trade at beachfronts, purpose-built truck parks, seasonal attractions and a packed calendar of events, often for international crowds who pay by tap. GetFoodTruckPOS gives you a fast window POS on a phone or tablet with VAT-inclusive prices and receipts in English or Arabic.
Dubai's truck trade follows the weather and the events calendar. From roughly October to April, evenings at the beach, outdoor markets, community events and big seasonal attractions keep trucks busy, with weekends on Saturday and Sunday and Friday evenings strong too. In the hottest months trade moves to evenings, indoor venues, malls and private bookings. Most trucks work permitted sites or organiser-run events rather than open streets, so the booking calendar drives the week.

In Dubai, food trucks generally need approval from Dubai Municipality for food safety and the vehicle setup, and a trade licence and event or location permits through the Department of Economy and Tourism. Venues and event organisers often have their own requirements and may handle part of the paperwork. Rules, fees and approved locations change, so confirm current requirements with Dubai Municipality, the Department of Economy and Tourism and your venue before you trade.
Dubai summers are extremely hot and humid, and a truck parked in the sun can push phones and tablets past their safe temperature. Keep the window device shaded and out of the kitchen's hot zone, and charge spare devices in an air-conditioned space. Humidity and sand are hard on card readers and printers, so cover them when not in use. Mobile data is strong across the city, but very large events can slow it at peak.
Tap is the default in Dubai, by card or Apple Pay, and many customers expect it everywhere, including at the beach. Cash is still accepted and some customers prefer it for small orders. Corporate clients usually pay by bank transfer against an invoice. Prices are expected to include 5% VAT, so the board price should be the price at the window.
Usually Dubai Municipality for food safety and vehicle approval, and the Department of Economy and Tourism for the trade licence and event or location permits. Venues and organisers add their own conditions. The exact steps depend on your activity and where you trade, and they change from time to time, so confirm current requirements with both authorities and your venue before you open.
It works anywhere you have a data connection, including large seasonal attractions. Crowds at peak evening hours can slow mobile data, so test at setup, keep a second SIM on a different network, and use quick menu buttons to keep the line short. We have no offline mode. Check the venue's rules on payment systems, since some attractions specify their own.
Yes. Set a 5% VAT rate, mark your menu as VAT-inclusive, and add your TRN. A board price of AED 30 rings up as AED 30, with VAT shown inside it on the receipt. The tax report totals VAT collected per period and per truck for your return, which you or your accountant file with the Federal Tax Authority.
Yes, through your provider's contactless terminal, which takes Apple Pay like any tap card. Record it in GetFoodTruckPOS as Card, or as its own method if you want it reported separately. The terminal needs its own connection, so check coverage at your beach spot, and ask your provider whether it can store payments offline if signal drops.
Create a quotation with menu, headcount and price, including VAT, and send it to the client. When confirmed, turn it into a sale and record the bank transfer as its own payment method. The invoice shows your business details and TRN. For recurring office activations, save the quotation and copy it next time.
The POS and receipts run in Arabic or English, and you can write your item names and today's spot post in both languages. Customers see whatever you write, so many Dubai trucks write item names in English with an Arabic line underneath. Share the store link on Instagram and WhatsApp so regulars find tonight's spot.
Many Dubai trucks shift to evening trade, indoor venues, mall activations and private bookings in the hottest months. GetFoodTruckPOS works the same anywhere, so you can change the menu for indoor events and post where you are. Keep devices cool, since heat can shut down phones, and use the quieter season to tidy your menu and reports.
