Hudayriyat Island
Leisure destination with food and beach areas popular with families on evenings and weekends.
Abu Dhabi, UAE
Abu Dhabi's trucks trade in a calmer rhythm than Dubai's, centred on family evenings at waterfront parks, island destinations and the capital's big festivals and sporting weekends. GetFoodTruckPOS runs on a phone or tablet at your window, with VAT-inclusive prices and receipts in Arabic or English.
Abu Dhabi's truck trade leans on families and residents. Evenings and weekends at waterfront parks and island destinations draw steady crowds through the cooler months, and the capital's festivals, concerts and sporting events bring big spikes, with motorsport and concert weekends on Yas among the busiest. Weekday trade includes office districts and government areas. Many trucks also serve camps, community events and private gatherings across the emirate, including in Al Ain.

Long waterfront with family evening crowds and seasonal events.
Concerts, motorsport and festival weekends with very large crowds and congested networks at peak.
Large cultural festivals in the cooler months, often with dedicated food areas.
Weekday lunch where permitted, often arranged with the building or organiser.
Events and markets elsewhere in the emirate, worth a separate menu or truck.
In Abu Dhabi, trade licensing runs through the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, and food safety for mobile units is overseen by ADAFSA, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, with the municipality and venue managers involved in where you can park. Many services are handled online through the government services platform. Requirements change, so confirm current rules with the Department of Economic Development, ADAFSA and your venue before you trade.
Abu Dhabi is very hot from late spring to early autumn, with high humidity on the coast and dust on windy days. Phones and tablets can overheat in a parked truck, so keep the window device shaded and away from the grill, and keep printers and card readers covered against sand. Evenings in the cooler months are pleasant and busy. Mobile coverage is good in the city and islands, but stadium and festival crowds can slow it.
Card and Apple Pay by tap are standard, and many families pay by phone. Cash remains common for small orders and at community events. Government and corporate bookings usually pay by bank transfer against a VAT invoice, so a proper invoice with your TRN matters. Prices are expected to include VAT.

Yes. Receipts and the POS can run in Arabic with right-to-left layout, or in English, and you can edit any translated label. Many Abu Dhabi trucks print Arabic item names for family and government events. Each staff member can choose their own screen language, so an English-speaking cashier can still print Arabic receipts.
The POS is fast at the window; the risk at big Yas events is congested mobile data. Test your connection at setup, keep a second phone on a different network logged in, and trim the menu to your fastest items. We have no offline mode, so if data fails, take cash and enter those sales afterwards. Check the organiser's payment rules too.
Create a quotation with the menu, quantities, price and VAT, with your TRN in business settings so it prints. Send it to the client, and convert it to a sale once confirmed. Record the bank transfer as its own payment method. You can export the invoice as a PDF for the client's accounts team.
Yes, as long as your permits allow it. Update today's spot when you move, and customers following your store link see the change. If two trucks trade at once, add the second as a location on the Fleet plan so sales and cash are counted separately. Post your move time clearly so families do not arrive after you leave.
Yes. VAT is federal, so the 5% rate and the Federal Tax Authority rules apply across all emirates. Set prices as VAT-inclusive, add your TRN, and the tax report totals VAT collected. What differs between emirates is licensing and permits, not VAT. Confirm your own VAT position with an accountant.
Yes. Take the card or Apple Pay on your bank's terminal and record the sale as Card in GetFoodTruckPOS. Your bank settles the money as usual. We do not process cards and take 0% of card sales. Ask your bank whether its terminal can store payments offline if signal drops at a crowded event.
Support for all UAE customers runs on WhatsApp, email and the contact form during UAE business hours, in English, Arabic or Urdu, with replies within one business day. We work online, so there is no office visit, but we can walk you through setup on a call at a time that suits you.
